Grading Scale

A — “Grade A / Excellent (Near-mint)”

Short label to show on listing: Grade A — Excellent 
Meaning: Near-perfect vintage condition. No visible damage, stains, or repairs. Only the tiniest signs of age (very light wear or natural fibre aging) that don’t affect appearance or wearability. May include deadstock / original tags if present.
Criteria checklist (all must be true):

  • No stains, holes, tears, or pulls visible in photos.

  • Seams, lining, buttons, & zippers fully functional.

  • No strong odors (must be smoke-/moth-/perfume-free or noted if faint).

  • Colour and fabric integrity intact (no significant fading, pilling, or thinning).
    Listing snippet :
    “Grade A — Excellent. Near-mint vintage with minimal signs of age; fully wearable. See measurements & close-ups.”


B — “Grade B / Good (Wear visible but tidy)”

Short label: Grade B — Good
Meaning: Good, wearable vintage with minor, honest signs of use that are either not very noticeable or have been professionally/cleanly repaired. Ideal for shoppers wanting vintage character without large defects.
Common examples: small hem fray, light pilling, tiny stain near seam, minor fading, one small mend.
Criteria checklist (one or more may apply, but no major structural faults):

  • Minor cosmetic flaws (small stains, light pilling, slight fading) clearly photographed.

  • Structural integrity intact — no large holes or broken seams.

  • Any repairs or replacements (buttons, hem) are described.
    Listing snippet:
    “Grade B — good. Wear consistent with age; minor flaws shown & described.”


C — “Grade C / Fair (Heavy wear — sold as-is / for repair/upcycle)”

Short label: Grade C — Fair
Meaning: Significant visible wear or damage: holes, larger stains, repairs, heavy fading, or missing original parts. Sold at budget price, for parts, repair, or creative reuse. Be explicit — buyer should know the item’s condition at a glance.
Criteria checklist:

  • Noticeable holes, large stains, tears, or missing pieces 

  • Item requires repair/cleaning to be wearable.

  • All defects must be photographed and disclosed.
