Who are we

I’m Jaakko “Jake” Salminen, the founder of Jake’s Vintage.

For most of my life, I thought I would pursue a career in finance. But deep down, I always had the feeling that I wanted to build something of my own, to create rather than analyse.

In the summer of 2023, I became chronically ill, which completely shattered my sense of self. For more than a year, I wasn’t able to achieve anything, and life felt like it was on pause. Then, in early 2025, I finally found a treatment that helped manage the chronic pain.

That experience made me rethink everything. What matters, what I want to do, and who I want to be.
I decided to stop postponing my dream and finally start something that reflects my values and creativity.

That’s how Jake’s Vintage was born. A small step toward doing something meaningful, sustainable, and uniquely mine.
